What Are Eyelash Extensions?

Synthetic Mink Eyelash extensions are individually applied to your natural lashes creating fuller, thicker, longer, luscious lashes. Go natural or go dramatic! Throw out the mascara and wake up looking beautiful.

What is the Difference between Classic, Hybrid & Volume Eyelash Extensions?

Classic is 1 synthetic lash extension attached to each individual natural lash. Volume is multiple finer lash extensions, carefully fanned out to attach to each individual natural lash. Hybrid is a combination of both Classic & Volume techniques.

How Long does is take to Apply Eyelash Extensions?

Including your personalized consultation, cleaning and priming the lashes, applying the extensions on each natural lash, takes about 2 - 3 hours for a full set and 1 - 2 hours for fills, dependent on how many natural lashes you have and what style you're getting. With our new BeamLight UV Lash System, lashing time is even less due to the immediate curing of the glue. Most Clients enjoy a Lash Beauty Nap during this time!

What is BeamLight Lash System and is it Safe?

The BeamLight Lash system is 100% safe and is CE and FCC certified! What makes this system different, is that the unique invisible glue that is used, is directly and immediately cured by our Specialized LED Lamp (which is at a specific wattage & wavelength specifically designed for the eyes & skin; used maybe 2-3 minutes total per eye). Since it is cured directly, there is little to no fumes, meaning no more red eyes & is immediately waterproof after treatment! 80% of the allergy clients, can use this system safely and no longer have a reaction! Temperature & Humidity  does not affect this glue which also means Extreme Lash Retention for all seasons, and longer periods of time in between fills! 

What products are you currently using and what makes it differ from others?

I only use high quality professional products to ensure the best results and retention! If its not good enough for me, it is definitely not good enough for my clients! With that said, As mentioned before, I do use the amazing BeamLight Lash System, however if you prefer a more traditional Non UV application, I use London Lash's multi-step pre-treatment liquids, primer, booster, glue and superbonder, known for their ultimate retention! On top of that, their Glue is Water Resistant, Cruelty free, Formaldehyde free, Heat-resistant, Latex free, Oil-resistant, Paraben-free, and Vegan! The Lash extensions I use are from SugarLash Pro & M.INT Beauty Pro. With iLumi Beauty, you never have to worry about low quality products being used!

What if I'm Sensitive to the Glue?

We Recommend Coming in a couple of days prior to your appointment for a patch test to see if you are a good candidate for eyelash extensions. If there is a glue sensitivity, it is usually to either the black carbon ingredient, (which can be fixed by using clear glue, or our BeamLight Lash System), or an allergy to the ingredient, Cyanoacrylate which is all lash glues (so if that were the case, unfortunately, would not be a good candidate for eyelash extensions). 8 out of 10 Clients with previous lash glue allergies, can use our BeamLight Lash System, so that may be a good one to try or patch test, if you've had previous allergy reactions.

Can I Wear MakeUp such as Mascara or Eyeliner with Eyelash Extensions?

You probably won’t need to! We don't recommend it!  No Waterproof or Oil-based products, No Liquid Eyeliners, No Perming, Curling or Tinting your lashes! The oil will break down the glue, causing poor retention and lash extensions to fall off. Only Use Water-based products!

How long does Eyelash Extensions Last?

I use 5 different quality products, alongside an ideal environment for the glue used, as well as the latest LED/UV Lash System that ensures optimal retention! When applied properly, eyelash extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes. Everyone's experience will differ based on day to day activities and their own lash cycles. Lashes have a natural growth cycle of 4 - 5 weeks. There are different stages of growth. Normally we lose 2 - 6 lashes per day. Your extensions should be shedding with your natural lashes. This is absolutely normal. New lashes will be growing out after it has been shed. We usually recommend getting fills every 2 - 4 weeks to keep your lashes looking Luscious and Full!

Will it Ruin or Cause my Natural Lashes to Fall Out?

With proper application your natural lashes will not suffer any damage. Extensions are only applied to teen - adult lashes. Baby lashes are left alone to allow them to fully develop into strong, healthy lashes. Your natural lashes have their own growth cycle and are continuously shedding and growing. This shedding process is more noticeable when you attached to a thicker, longer extension. When your extensions are removed your own lashes may appear shorter and sparser because you become accustomed to longer, thicker lashes. 

What is your Cancellation Policy?

• Cancellations accepted up to 24 hours before the scheduled service. Within 24 hours of the service, cancellations will be charged 50% of the service reserved in order to continue to book.
• A $50 NON-refundable deposit is required for All Online bookings & New Clients. The deposit goes towards your service. Any cancellations and/or reschedules with more than 24 hours notice is free of charge and deposit is transferrable to your next appointment.  If you cancel your appointment within 24 hours or you no show your appointment, you forfeit the booking deposit and another non-refundable booking fee will be required for a new appointment. 

Can I Swim, Shower, or Exercise while wearing Lash Extensions?

Yes! The BeamLight Lash system is waterproof immediately after treatment. For our Traditional Non UV Lash technique, the bonding agent we use is completely waterproof within 2hours of your service and allows you to shower, swim, exercise etc. However, chlorine and salt water can damage the adhesive bond, affecting retention, so be sure to wash your lashes with lash shampoo after you swim. Also do Not brush your lashes while they are wet, water adds extra weight, so the key is to properly allow them to dry properly before brushing them to avoid pulling them out!  We do recommend however that you do not wash your eye area for the first 2 hours after the eyelash application.

Does it Hurt?

No!  The experience is so relaxing, that Clients most often fall asleep while their lashes are being applied.

How do I know Which Service to Get?

There are many different lengths, thickness and curls! We will go through a thorough consultation with you to see what type of style you're interested in. We also take in consideration the health of your lashes in regards to what length/thickness your lashes can handle. You’re never stuck with just one look. Want to try something different? We can change it up at your next fill.

Can I Bring a Guest?

As you are encouraged to relax and take a lash nap during service, as some client's eyes tend to flutter while chatting, I would recommend saving Friend or Family time for after your lash service. There is also a "no talking" rule during lash service, to ensure all lash extensions are applied correctly for the health and retention of your lashes. If you still really want to bring an Adult Guest, Please be sure to inform me ahead of time.

Can I use Eyelash Curlers with my Eyelash Extensions?

We do NOT recommend using mechanical eyelash curlers on your eyelash extensions as these curlers will damage the extensions and possibly your own natural lashes. The extensions have a natural curl so most people find they don't need to curl them further.

Can the Eyelash Extensions be Removed?

Yes, at any time for any reason! If you have had an improper eyelash extension application somewhere other than iLumi Beauty, or simply wish to remove them, we provide that service here at the studio. It is a simple procedure that doesn't take long and we have a specially formulated removal solution that will break down the glue and safely remove your extensions without damaging your natural lash.

Please do not attempt to remove the lash extensions yourself as this will cause premature pulling out of your natural lashes.

Are Eyelash Extensions Suitable for Everyone?

As long as there is no lash glue allergies, and a natural lash to adhere the extension onto, most people are suitable for Eyelash Extensions. Best option is to Call Us if you have questions or Fill out our Intake Questionaire & We will contact you within 24hours, and discuss the best options for you!

However, there are a few conditions that will affect your Eyelash Extension Service:

1. Dry Eye Syndrome: Clients with dry eye syndrome are not suitable for eyelash extensions, as they often have to use medicated eye drops, which have ingredients in them that affect the bonding chemicals in the adhesive glue.
2. Allergy to Acrylic, or Cyanoacrylate.
3. Had Eye Surgery of any kind (including injections such as botox) less than 4 weeks ago.
4. A Client with anything infectious or contagious should not have any sort of treatment performed on them until they are well. (such as pink eye, styes etc)
5. Medications/Supplements to be aware of: Thyroid Medications can have a negative impact lash extension longevity. Vitamin supplements that promote hair growth can also accelerate lash shedding. If you are taking any of these, we would recommend more frequent infills.

Specifically for the BeamLight Lash System:

1. Epilepsy, Photosensitivity, Hemophilia, Albinism, Lupus Erythematosus, Radio or Chemotherapy.
2. In the Eye Area: Skin Cancer, Abrasions, Sunburn, Scars that have not healed, Keloids, Herpes, Photosensitive Eczema, Inflammatory Skin Diseases, Fungal infections, Laser Treatment (last 3 months)
3. Medications: Any Photosensitizing medications such as antihistamines, neuroleptics, antiepileptics, antipsychotics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs etc.

My Child wants Lash Extensions, Are they safe for teenagers?

Yes! Extensions are safer for your lashes than the water-proof mascara that many teens choose to wear. Removing water-proof mascara requires having to rub eyes and use lots of makeup remover – which damages lashes and breaks them off.
